In 1969, at John Lennon’s estate in Berkshire, England, The Beatles partook in their final photo shoot. This was the last time all four Beatles were together in the same place. A month later, in a meeting with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Lennon announced he was leaving the band.
In 1981, Duran Duran hit number 5 on the U.K. singles chart with “Girls on Film,” the final single from their self-titled debut album. The song did not chart in the U.S. However, “Girls on Film” became popular in the States after its controversial music video was put in rotation on MTV.
