In 1972, Bread performed for a crowd of nearly 4,000 people at SIU Arena in Carbondale, Illinois. Three months earlier, the band had released their Baby I’m-a Want You album, which was charting at number 8 at the time of the concert. England Dan & John Ford Coley were the opening act. Eight months earlier, they had released their self-titled debut album. In their review of the show, the Daily Egyptian wrote that the duo “proved themselves clearly to be a team with a bright future.”
In 1990, Whitesnake performed for a crowd of about 5,900 people at SIU Arena in Carbondale, Illinois. Six months earlier, the band had released their Slip of the Tongue album, which was charting at number 53 at the time of the concert. Bad English was the opening act. Ten months earlier, Bad English had released their self-titled debut album, which was on the chart at number 79.
