Herrin man arrested on drug charges following traffic stop

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. (WJPF) – A Herrin man has been arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says Diego Nevith, 49, was pulled over around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in West Frankfort for a traffic violation. Nevith’s driver’s license was suspended. He was detained and the vehicle was searched. Police say they found meth and other drug paraphernalia.

Diego Nevith was taken to the Franklin County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license suspended.
