Coach of the Volunteers, Tyler Smithpeters, joined Talkin Vols on Tuesday.  The Vols opened the year at Three Rivers College with an 0-2 record.  Coach Smithpeters talked with Dave McKenzie about the start to the year.

The John A. Logan College baseball and softball programs received a large donation from the Harrison Bruce Foundation on Thursday morning.  The donation will go to the construction of a brand new player development center, located between the two teams' fields.  Matt Varney caught up with Vols baseball coach Kyle Surprenant after the check presentation.

Murphysboro's offense is clicking on all cylinders after a 49-13 win in the first round of the IHSA playoffs.  Coach Gary Carter spoke about that and the upcoming game against Charleston on Saturday with Matt Varney.

The Johnston City Indians had to fight for a win over #14 Auburn last week but they came out on top 16-8.  Now they're headed to #11 Breese (Mater Dei) this Saturday, a team that presents a lot of problems.  Matt Varney and head coach of the Indians, Todd Thomas, discussed both games and solutions to the Breese Mater Dei Knights.

Du Quoin has a tough opponent this week in the second round of the IHSA 3A Playoffs, they travel to annual powerhouse #9 Tolono (Unity) Saturday.  Matt Varney and Du Quoin head coach Logan Spain discussed this week's matchup and the win over #16 Monticello last week.

Harrisburg Bulldogs head coach Matt Griffith talked with Matt Varney this afternoon about last week's big win at Carterville to clinch the Bulldogs' first postseason win since 2012.  They also discussed the highly anticipated game at Harrisburg, their first home playoff game since 2015, against Peoria Notre Dame this Saturday night at 5pm.
