On this day in music history…

In 1971, The Doobie Brothers released their self-titled debut album. The band’s lineup consisted of Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons on guitars and vocals, Dave Shogren on bass, and John Hartman on drums. This was the only Doobies album on which Shogren played in full. The album didn’t chart.

In 2002, the 24th episode of the fourth season of That ‘70s Show aired on Fox. Titled “That ‘70s Musical,” the episode featured an appearance by Who frontman Roger Daltrey, who played the role of music teacher Mr. Wilkinson.
