CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Two suspects have been arrested for deceptive practices in Carbondale.
On April 17, just after 5pm, officers responded to a report of deceptive practices at the 1100 block of East Main Street.
Three suspects, pretending to be employees of a financial institution, convinced victims to provide personal financial information over the phone. They then used that information to steal money from the victim’s bank accounts.
The investigation led to the arrest of 32 year old Dallace Beasley of Carbondale and 26 year old Matthew Beasley of Chicago for Deceptive Practices. They were released pending a court appearance.
Police are searching for additional suspects.
