In 1967, The Beatles did a photo shoot at Michael Cooper’s studio in London for their Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album. Cooper shot the photos of the band that would appear on the front cover, back cover, and gatefold of the album. The cover concept, created by artists Peter Blake and Jann Haworth, had the band posing in front of life-sized black and white carboard cutouts of various historical figures and celebrities.Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was released two months after the shoot.
In 1994, Pink Floyd performed for a capacity crowd of over 54,700 people at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, kicking off their Division Bell Tour. The tour lasted for seven months, during which the band performed 110 concerts. At its conclusion, the Division Bell Tour grossed about $250 million, making it the highest-grossing tour ever at the time.
