On this day in music history…
In 1969, Paul McCartney married Linda Eastman in London. McCartney was 26 years old, and Eastman was nine months his senior. He was the last of The Beatles to get married. The McCartneys were married for 29 years until Linda’s passing in 1998.
In 1971, The Allman Brothers Band performed the first of three shows at the Fillmore East in New York. The band recorded the first two nights for their first live album, At Fillmore East, which would be released four months later.
