In 1970, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young released their Déjà Vu album. David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash had already released one album as a trio, but Déjà Vu was their first album as a quartet with fourth member Neil Young. Déjà Vu would top the albums chart and go on to be the best-selling album in the CSN and CSNY catalog.
In 1975, Alice Cooper released his debut solo album, Welcome to My Nightmare. It is a concept album, taking the listener through the nightmares of a character named Steven. Welcome to My Nightmare went on to peak at number 5 on the albums chart.
