Two Teens Arrested After Carbondale Assault Caught on Video

Carbondale Police have arrested two teens after an assault that was recorded on video and shared on social media.

Police say a 15-year-old and 18-year-old Tonndreick D. Williams of Carbondale face aggravated battery charges. Investigators say the assault happened around 11:10 p.m. March 4 in the 100 block of North Illinois Avenue and appears to have stemmed from a personal dispute.

One victim has been located and had minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Police are still trying to identify a second victim.

The juvenile was released to a guardian, while Williams was taken to the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Carbondale Police.
