In 1987, U2 released their fifth studio album, The Joshua Tree. The album received critical acclaim and topped the charts in several countries, including the U.S. By the end of 1987, the album was certified four times Platinum by the RIAA. The following year, The Joshua Tree won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
In 1993, Sting released his fourth solo studio album, Ten Summoner’s Tales. The album peaked at number 2 on the U.S. chart. Ten Summoner’s Tales included two hit singles: “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You” went to number 17, and “Fields of Gold” went to number 23. The album also featured a re-recorded version of “It’s Probably Me”, a song Sting originally recorded with Eric Clapton for the Lethal Weapon 3 soundtrack.
