On this day in music history…

In 1975, Led Zeppelin released their sixth studio album, Physical Graffiti. Produced by the band’s own Jimmy Page, the album was Led Zeppelin’s first to be released on their own Swan Song label. Physical Graffiti topped the charts in the U.S. and the band’s native U.K.

In 1976, the Eagles compilation album Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) became the first album to be certified Platinum by the RIAA. It remains one of the best-selling albums of all time.
