A powerful winter storm is expected to move into the region late tonight, bringing heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain — creating dangerous travel conditions through Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area. It runs from midnight tonight through 6 p.m. Sunday.

Forecasters say the storm could drop 8 to 13 inches of snow in some areas

Officials warn roads could quickly become extremely hazardous — and travel may become difficult or even impossible at times.
