The Mt. Vernon Police Department has arrested a Belle Rive man in connection with a December residential burglary in Jefferson County.

Detectives served a search warrant January third with help from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, recovering stolen property and firearms, including one with a defaced serial number.

Twenty-four-year-old David Porter faces multiple felony charges and had an active parole warrant through the Illinois Department of Corrections.

A court hearing is set for January twenty-second in Jefferson County.
