On this day in music history…
 
In 1975, The J. Geils Band performed at Cobo Hall in Detroit. The concert was recorded by Metro Audio Detroit. Selections from the recording, as well as from an earlier concert in Boston, were included on their second live album Blow Your Face Out, which was released five months later. Blow Your Face Out would go on to peak at number 40 on the albums chart, solidifying the band as a prolific live act.
 

 
 
In 1979, Loverboy played their first concert. They opened for Kiss at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia, performing for a crowd of about 14,300 people. Their debut album would be released nine months later.
