On this day in music history…

In 1964, Roy Orbison topped the singles chart for the second time with “Oh, Pretty Woman.” The song stayed at number 1 for three weeks. This was the last time Orbison would take the top spot in his career, but not the last time he’d land in the top 10. Twenty-five years later, he would reach the number 9 spot with “You Got It,” which was released about a month after his passing.

In 1985, Ratt performed at SIU Arena in Carbondale, Illinois, kicking off the arena’s ’85-’86 season. Bon Jovi opened the show. About 4,500 concertgoers were in attendance. Earlier that year, Ratt had released their second album, Invasion of Your Privacy, and Bon Jovi had also released their second album, 7800˚ Fahrenheit.
