MT. VERNON, Ill. (WJPF) – A traffic accident involving a pedestrian has taken the life of a Carrier Mills man.

Robert Bryans, 65, was killed Monday in Mt. Vernon while walking along Broadway Street, in between 42nd and 44th Streets.

It was the second fatal accident involving a pedestrian in that immediate area in a week’s time. On Friday, a 58-year-old man was killed while walking on Broadway, near 42nd Street.
