HERRIN, Ill. (WJPF) – Hazardous materials team training will be happening September 2 in Herrin.

The Herrin Fire Department will host the MABAS division 45 quarterly training at the Herrin Community Unit School District #4 located at 500 N. 10th Street from 8:00am – 12:00pm.

The department says multiple emergency response vehicles will be operating in the area and participating in a simulated response to a hazardous materials incident. 

The office and all district schools will continue to operate in their normal capacity throughout the training.

They ask the public to use caution when traveling near the training site.
