In 1979, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School hit theaters. The film featured the Ramones, which, at that point, consisted of Joey on lead vocals, Johnny on guitar, Dee Dee on bass, and Marky on drums. The movie received positive reviews from critics.
In 1989, The Who performed Tommy at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, celebrating 20 years since the album’s release. Steve Winwood, Billy Idol, Patti LaBelle, Elton John, and Phil Collins each joined the band on stage for select songs.
