In 1994, Pearl Jam filed an antitrust complaint against Ticketmaster with the Department of Justice. A couple months later, Pearl Jam members Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament testified before Congress about Ticketmaster’s practices. The band canceled their 1994 summer tour and continued their boycott of Ticketmaster for four years, refusing to perform at venues affiliated with the company.
In 1994, the penultimate episode of the fifth season of Family Matters aired on ABC. In the episode, Aunt Oona (Steve Urkel’s aunt) is visiting, and eventually, she sings the song “Last Dance” at a karaoke bar. Donna Summer played the role of Aunt Oona, and she would reprise the role in another episode a few years later.
