On this day in music history…
In 1975, Steve Miller was arrested after the police were called to his house. Miller was accused of setting some of his friend’s clothes and belongings on fire. He got into an argument with the responding officers and was charged with resisting arrest. The charges were dropped the next day.
In 1986, The Charlie Daniels Band opened for Alabama at SIU Arena in Carbondale, Illinois, performing for a crowd of over 5,300 people. The band played for an hour and closed their set with “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”
