Burglary investigation leads to multiple arrests in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A burglary investigation has led to multiple arrests in Jefferson County.

29 year old Travis Brock was arrested on March 31 after a complaint of stolen currency, firearms, ammunition and electronics from a victim’s location in Woodlawn.The investigation continued, resulting in the two residential search warrants in Mt. Vernon.

While enroute to serve the search warrants, at residences on N. 10th Street and Bakerville Road 46 year old Stewart Spilman was seen leaving one of the residences. He was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

58 year old Michael Jones, 38 year old Amanda French, and 42 year old April Penrod were taken into custody.

French was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine. 

Jones was arrested for Armed Violence, Aggravated Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Stolen Firearms, and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. 

Penrod was arrested for the crimes of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

Both Jones and Penrod were incarcerated in the Jefferson County Jail to await their pre-trial detention hearing.
