On this day in music history…

In 1957, Elvis Presley performed outside of the United States for the first time in his career, playing two shows at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. He wore his full gold lamé suit (which he was not a fan of) for the final time during those shows.

In 1967, brothers Steve and Muff Winwood played their last concert with The Spencer Davis Group at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool, England. The Winwoods were both original members of The Spencer Davis Group and had played with the band for four years. Steve would soon go on to form Traffic with friends Jim Capaldi, Dave Mason, and Chris Wood.
