In 1978, Jimmy Buffett released his eighth studio album, Son of a Son of a Sailor. The album peaked at number 10 on the chart, making it Buffett’s highest-charting album at that point in his career. Within a couple months of its release, Son of a Son of a Sailor was certified Platinum by the RIAA.

In 1998, Van Halen released their 11th studio album, Van Halen III. It was Van Halen’s first and only album to feature Gary Cherone on lead vocals.
