In 1977, Jimmy Buffett released his seventh studio album, Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes. The album went on to peak at number 12 on the albums chart. Five months after its release, Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes was certified Gold by the RIAA, and at the end of the year, it was certified Platinum.
In 1982, Ozzy Osbourne performed at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa on his Diary of a Madman Tour. The show took an unexpected turn when a fan threw a bat on stage. Osbourne proceeded to grab the bat and bite off its head, thinking it was a toy. It turned out to be a real bat, and he was taken to the hospital to receive rabies shots after the concert.
