A warning from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say someone claiming to be Sergeant Corey Foster is calling residents from fake “618” numbers — demanding money and saying it’s for an arrest warrant.

The sheriff’s office says it’s a scam and is urging people not to give out personal information over the phone. Officials remind the public that they never call to collect payments or share warrant details.

Anyone who gets one of these calls should report it to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 618-684-2177.
