The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that happened early Saturday morning in rural Dowell.

Deputies say two motorcycles were traveling west on Dowell Road near Chammess Road when they collided. One of the riders lost control and was ejected. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second rider was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is handling the investigation.
