On this day in music history…

In 1966, Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding, and Mitch Mitchell rehearsed together for the first time, officially forming The Jimi Hendrix Experience. The band featured Hendrix on guitar and vocals, Redding on bass, and Mitchell on drums. Their first album, Are You Experienced, was released seven months later.

In 2016, Paisley Park, once the home and studio of Prince, opened to the public. Located in Chanhassen, Minnesota, the complex was made into a museum, celebrating Prince’s life and legacy. Visitors are able to take tours of Paisley Park and attend Prince-themed events and concerts. Prince passed away in 2016 at the age of 57.
