On this day in music history…
In 1979, the Eagles released their sixth studio album. Titled The Long Run, it went on to be their third number 1 album in a row. This was the first Eagles album to feature Timothy B. Schmit on bass and vocals. At the time, tensions were running high in the band, and they broke up the following year.
In 1991, Nirvana released their second studio album, Nevermind. The album was the trio’s major label debut, and it went on to top the chart. This was Nirvana’s first album with drummer Dave Grohl, who had joined the band the previous year.
