WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Police in Williamson County were busy overnight handling two  death investigations.

At about 9:30 p.m., a 44-year-old man was shot to death in the 1500 block of Pine Avenue in Johnston City. A person of interest was taken into custody and questioned by detectives.

Then, at about 10:00 p.m., police were called to the 12000 block of Brushy Creek Road in Carrier Mills after a 51-year-old woman was found dead. A person of interest in that case was also located and questioned by police.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says these two deaths are not related and there is no threat to the public.
