In 1980, AC/DC made an explosive comeback, releasing their Back in Black album. It was the group’s first album with lead vocalist Brian Johnson. The band’s former frontman Bon Scott had passed away five months earlier at the age of 33. Back in Black was a massive success, topping the charts in the U.K., Canada, and the band’s native Australia. It peaked at number 4 in the U.S. Back in Black is one of the best-selling albums of all time worldwide.
In 2001, Bonnie Raitt and former Doors drummer John Densmore attended a public protest put on by Rainforest Action Network in Itasca, Illinois. Protestors were demonstrating against the Boise Cascade Corporation’s logging activity. Twenty protestors, including Raitt and Densmore, were arrested. Raitt and Densmore were each penalized with a fine.
