The St. Louis Blues made a move on Saturday afternoon.  The franchise signed goaltender Joel Hofer to a 2-year contract extension worth $6.8 million.

Hofer, 24, was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on Tuesday.  Multiple fan bases were foaming at the mouth to get a chance to send an offer sheet his way.

Hofer was 16-8-3 with one shutout in 31 games this past season.  He had a 2.64 goals-against average and a .904 save rate while splitting time with Jordan Binnington.
