Teen arrested after shots fired in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A teen has been arrested after shots fired in Carbondale.

On May 25 a little before 8pm, officers responded to the 700 block of North Billy Bryan Street. Officers learned that a passenger in a white Chevrolet Impala fired shots in the area resulting in several of the shots striking a residence. The vehicle fled the area prior to the officers’ arrival but no injuries were reported.

On May 28, the juvenile was located and arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The juvenile was taken to a juvenile detention facility pending a court appearance.
