On this day in music history…

In 1967, the third Monkees album, Headquarters, was released. Compared to the first two Monkees albums, this album featured many more significant contributions from the band members after they fought with their record label for creative control. Headquarters topped the U.S. chart.

In 1972, The Guess Who performed at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington. The recording of the concert became their first live album, titled Live at the Paramount. It charted at number 39 in the U.S. and number 17 in the group’s native Canada. This was the band’s last release to include original bassist Jim Kale.
