Meridian boys basketball David Davis has been named the new head boys basketball coach at Paducah Tilghman.

The former Bobcats star got his break as a head coach at his old stomping grounds in 2021.  Since taking over, Meridian has experienced a revolution on the hardwood.  Davis and the Bobcats never suffered worse than a 23-win season during his 4-year stint at Meridian.

Davis takes a 100-43 career record to Paducah Tilghman.  He led Meridian to a 2nd place finish in the 1A State Finals in the 2023-24 season and three straight Sectional titles.

Davis takes over a Tigers program that recently let go of Greg Overstreet.  Across six seasons, Overstreet went 112-66 with two 2nd district championships in the last four years but after a 17-12 regular season and making just the 1st region semifinals this past season was let go because “current program success is not at a level where Paducah Tilghman needs to be moving forward.”
