On this day in music history…

• In 2011, Roger Waters welcomed special guests David Gilmour and Nick Mason on stage at the O2 Arena in London. Part of Waters’s The Wall Live Tour, Gilmour guested on “Comfortably Numb” and both Gilmour and Mason joined the band for “Outside the Wall.” This was the first time Waters, Gilmour, and Mason had been on stage together since Pink Floyd’s reunion at Live 8 in 2005.

• Also in 2011, The Monkees kicked off their 45th Anniversary Tour at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. The reunion lineup consisted of Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, and Peter Tork; Michael Nesmith didn’t participate. Jones would pass away from a heart attack less than a year later.
