GOREVILLE, Ill. (WJPF) – A woman is recovering after she was kicked, choked, and shot at multiple times during a domestic dispute.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to a home in rural Goreville on Wednesday, November 20. The woman who called police said she and her boyfriend, 68-year-old Michael Williams, had been fighting for the past few hours and the altercation had become physical.

Williams was arrested about 5 hours after police first arrived on the scene. Inside of his home, police say they found multiple guns, ammunition, and spent shell casings.

Michael Williams is facing charges of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and interfering with reporting of domestic violence. He was denied pre-trial release.
