Loaded gun found during Carbondale traffic stop

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) —  Police in Carbondale say a loaded gun was found during a Thursday traffic stop. 

CPD says around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, they began receiving reports of a passenger in vehicle brandishing a gun.  The vehicle was seen in the 800 block of North Wall Street.

The vehicle was located a short time later.  Carbondale Police say officers found a loaded gun and controlled substance inside.  Isaiah King, 19, of Carterville was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.  He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
