CHESTER, Ill. (WJPF) – A six hour long police standoff in Chester ended with a man being arrested on gun charges.
Chester Police say around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday Christopher Bowles, 41, fired several shots from the back porch of his home on State Street.
For the rest of Wednesday afternoon, police said they had sporadic contact Bowles. When he opened the door to let an officer speak with him, other officers moved in. After a fight, Christopher Bowles was arrested. No additional shots were fired.
Bowles is facing charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.
