MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – Two elderly Marion residents were saved by firefighters when their home caught fire.

The Marion Fire Department says they responded to the home on North Vicksburg Street around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and found the garage fully engulfed with flames. They say the fire was quickly spreading to the rear of the home and the attic.

Firefighters entered the burning home and guided the two residents inside to safety. Both were examined at the scene by paramedics but declined any further medical treatment.
