Vienna Eagles boys basketball coach Stephen Dreher is calling it a career.  Tuesday afternoon, Vienna High School announced Dreher is retiring and they are accepting applications for the boys’ basketball coaching position.

Dreher came to Vienna in June of 2020 from western Kentucky, where he accumulated a 358-254 record.  He had multiple stops in that region, including Paducah Tilghman where he coached both the boys and girls programs.  In 1991, he coached the Paducah Tilghman boys to the state finals final four and led them to a school record 32 wins.

Dreher brought that wealth of experience and helped the Eagles set their own new school record for wins in a season with 29 in the 2022-23 season.  His time as Vienna coach was also highlighted by three consecutive Black Diamond Conference titles.

Dreher accumulated a record of 84-33 at Vienna, bringing his career record to 442-287.
