MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) – A Murphysboro man has been killed in a single vehicle accident in rural Jackson County.

It happened around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday on Town Creek Road, at the intersection with Worthen Cemetery Road.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Kyle Thompson’s vehicle left the road and hit a culvert, causing it to overturn multiple times. Thompson was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the wreck. He died at the scene.
