Murphysboro Man Sentenced for 2021 Stabbing

CARBONDALE Ill. (WJPF) – A man has been sentenced 17 years for a 2021 stabbing.

On Friday, 42 year old Commodore Jackson of Murphysboro was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Jackson was found guilty for aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon last year.

The incident happened in November of 2021, when police were called to Hanger 9 in Carbondale for a stabbing. The victim had been stabbed four times in the parking lot after a verbal argument, but was able to get inside and call for help.
