Carbondale Man Sentenced for Robbery and Burglary Charges

A Carbondale man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to robbery and burglary charges.

31 year old Juan Rivera Marrero was sentenced to 10 years for a robbery charge and two counts of burglary out of Jackson County.

The latest incident, police responded to the Super 8 Hotel after an 83 year old man was robbed. Marrero shoved the man to the ground and stole his wallet. Officers were able to catch up with him outside of Chili’s in Carbondale.

The other charges come from incidents where he broke into vehicles and stole items in September and May of this year.

Marrero was sentenced to ten years for the robbery charge and six for the two burglary charges.
