Man arrested for Possession of a Weapon by a Felon in Herrin

A man has been charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Felon in Herrin.

On October 4th, Deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office observed a a male traveling east from an alleyway on Maple Street around midnight. The male was dressed in black with a small bag on his back.

The area was known for high drug activity and the deputies observed the man commit multiple bicycle violations.

A traffic stop was attempted but the male continued to flee for several blocks until he finally lost control of the bicycle while traveling northbound on 17th street. He tried to flee on foot but was apprehended and identified as Michael Tucker.

Tucker was cited for Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Resisting a Peace Officer, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer, and Disobeying a Stop Sign. A STAR 9mm pistol and ammunition was also found on him.

He remains in the Williamson County Jail.
