MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) – A Murphysboro man has been convicted of attempted first degree murder in connection to a 2020 ambush style shooting.

Prosecutors say Edward Weaver, 37, waited outside of the victims Murphysboro home, watched him get into his vehicle, and then shot him multiple times as he sat behind the wheel.  The man was taken to a St. Louis hospital.

Edward Weaver will remain in the Jackson County jail until sentencing.
