MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – After unanimous approval by the city council, Marion will use revamped STAR bonds to help spur economic growth.

The Black Diamond family of businesses plans to build an entertainment complex in and around the former Marion Centre Mall property.

The STAR bonds are repaid through sales tax revenue collected within the STAR bond district.
