HAMILTON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Three people were killed in a two vehicle crash near the Saline-Hamilton County Line.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Illinois State Police say a vehicle traveling south on Illinois Route 142 tried to pass another vehicle when it lost control.  The driver overcorrected and hit a tractor-trailer.

Three people in the vehicle died at the scene.  The driver of the truck has minor cuts and bruises.
