METROLPLIS, Ill. (WJPF) – A man is now facing an involuntary manslaughter charge in connection to a fight in May at a Metropolis truck stop.

Samuel Stalions, 41, of Golconda, died after a fight in the video gaming room of Acee’s Truck Stop.  Authorities say Jonathan Riley, 36, of Kirksey, Kentucky, first pepper sprayed, then knocked Stalions to the ground before kneeling on his neck, cutting off his air and causing his death.

Riley was originally arrested for first degree murder.  It was the first homicide in Metropolis in over a decade.
