Lightning the suspected cause in two Monday morning fires

(WJPF) — Lightning is the suspected cause of two Monday fires. 

Around 4:00 a.m. firefighters in DuQuoin were called out to the corner of East Main and Division.  Flames could be seen coming through the roof of the three story brick building.  At least two business were damaged, but no injuries were reported.

Around 4:20 a.m. firefighters in Massac County responded to a fire at St. John’s Church.  The building was heavily damaged, but no injuries were reported.
